Antigone Rising 23 RED/Summer Writing - June 17, 2011

We (Antigone Rising) have finished our first studio album!! (the first with me anyway.) 23 RED is DONE and off to the printer/duplication house. Such an amazing feeling to be finished. Im so proud of all the songs and the production (Gary Philips) really helped take everything to a whole new level. Have a listen to Everywhere is Home in the media player.

Summer has barely gotten underway and as the heat rolls down my Brooklyn street, i find myself tucked away with pen and paper trying to out best my best new songs. I suppose that's why I'm still so enamored of songwriting. There is never really a finish line since each new song is but an attempt to best the last best one. Recently i spent some time with Zach Berkman and Gary Philips (one of my favorite writing configurations) and we finished THE CITY. Check it out in the media player. Same with Garrison Starr - i am in LOVE with this new song of ours called MORE OF YOU. Garrison and I wrote it one day in NYC and shipped if over the internets to Meghan Toohey who produced the shit out of it.

Hope you are all having a great summer!
