Hey everyone.
The Germany World Cup Tour was pretty amazing and i hope to
have more video and stories for you soon. i know im pretty lame
at this journal so now is my chance to make it up to you!
Many of you
have asked if were were IN the actual stadiums. NO. we didn't
even get close to seeing a game live and in person and NO we
weren't near bono or shakira (we did get lost trying to get
to our backstage area and saw the Italian team loading into
their bus to get to the game!! VIVA ITALIA!). However, we were
in different parts of Germany (each show was in a different
city) playing at "viewing areas". On one occasion
in particular we played at Bochum Stadium. It was unbelievable.
Free to the public, huge TV screens showing the live game, tons
of (mostly) German fans, food and MANY beer vendors. The sound
of a german goal or a german win was deafening. I can't imagine
any event in the US where people would gather together just
to watch something as a community. The games were on all the
TV screens in pubs and bars and ice cream shops and anywhere
they could fit a screen, but the people flocked to these viewing
areas in order to be surrounded by other fans. Wild.
Here is a short
video diary from Bochum Stadium (it may take a few minutes to
load). We played before one of the Germany matches & luckily
they won! Some pictures are also posted on the gallery
page.
Thanks for
stopping by!
